Starting primarily with running and yoga, she was awed by the benefits of endurance, cardio and the profound importance of stretching for recovery. At university she incorporated weight training and became a Personal Trainer certified through the Cooper Clinic in Dallas, Texas. She has a BSc in Health and Wellness Sociology and Psychology from TCU, emphasizing the interconnected nature of our health – mentally and physically - and the impacts it has on our environment and society as a whole. Following her degree, she worked in private fitness until adding certifications in both yoga and Barre in 2014. Living and working in Dallas as a full time instructor, she felt the pull for something more to offer her clients and herself. Thinking holistically, she noticed a divide in many active individuals' fitness and nutrition. Her next step involved a long haul move to London, UK to pursue a Master’s in Sports and Exercise Nutrition with the University of Westminster. Now Kalyn helps individuals assess their dietary needs to fuel their optimal life, both in and out of the gym. She states she is a performance nutritionist because the way your fuel yourself impacts how your engage and show up in all facets of life even outside the gym - from the office to time with the family – she loves to explore with her clients to find what gives them the energy and vitality to always show up 100%. It was in London that Kalyn took her first reformer based Pilates class and stumbled across London’s premier Lagree studio looking for more time on the machine. Loving the intensity, she completed her Lagree certification with Studio 6 Fitness in Dallas upon returning in 2017. She has since taught Lagree privately, in groups and online as a Senior Trainer with Studio 6, where she came to know and learn from Amy Teter. Kalyn is an avid learner, educator, traveler, hiker and animal lover. Alongside her fitness credentials and Nutrition MSc she holds certifications in yoga as therapy and sound bath. Today Kalyn considers herself a fitness/wellness professional, a performance nutritionist, a meditation/sound therapy guide, a brain health advocate and an aspiring neuroscientist.
